About the Author
Cheri Kempf began Club K, the largest indoor training facility for female fastpitch softball players in the United States, in 1991. She has taught and trained thousands of athletes who have competed at all levels of the college game, including. Kempf also serves as an instructor for the NFCA Coaches College. Her playing career featured national championship titles at the youth and college levels and a gold medal at the World Cup International tournament with the U.S. team in 1992. Since her playing career ended, Kempf has been inducted into the halls of fame for the State of Missouri ASA, the NAIA, and Missouri Western State College. She is currently a color analyst for college, professional, and amateur softball games on ESPN, Fox Sports, YES Network, and the Comcast cable network. She also serves as the marketing manager for Worth Sports and is the commissioner of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league. A national speaker and member of the 2004-2008 quadrennium for USA Softball Coaching Poll, Kempf still finds time to serve as the pitching coach for the U.S. junior national team, which won the gold medal in the 2007 Junior World Championships. Kempf lives in Hermitage, Tennessee, and enjoys boating, traveling, and visiting her family in Missouri.
